What’s Happening Around Sevier County: |
Hello Sevier County Digest readers,
The week of March 23 through March 29 looks like an active one across Sevier County, with spring festivals, special events, and plenty of visitors making their way through Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. If you have plans to be out and about this week, expect a lively mix of local activity and spring break traffic.
One of the biggest events of the week is Ponies in the Smokies, which runs from Monday, March 23 through Saturday, March 28 at the Sevierville Convention Center. This popular Mustang event typically draws car enthusiasts from well beyond the local area, which means increased traffic near the convention center and heavier-than-usual flow along major routes through Sevierville and into Pigeon Forge. It is one of the biggest attention-grabbers of the week and will likely be a major contributor to local crowd levels.
Over in Pigeon Forge, Dollywood continues its I Will Always Love You Music Festival throughout the week. The festival began on March 13 and runs through April 12, giving visitors a seasonal reason to head into the park during this late-March stretch. With spring decorations, themed entertainment, and the usual draw of Dollywood itself, this remains one of the county’s strongest tourism anchors for the week.
Gatlinburg is also fully in spring mode as Springfest continues across the city. Springfest began on March 19 and runs through June 20, bringing colorful seasonal displays and a festive feel to downtown Gatlinburg. For visitors who enjoy walking the Parkway, shopping, and taking in the mountain atmosphere, this is one of the best times of year to visit before the summer rush reaches full strength.
Taken together, these events make the week of March 23 through March 29 feel like a true kickoff to a busier spring season in Sevier County. Car show traffic, festival visitors, and general vacation travel will all combine to keep roads, restaurants, parking areas, and attractions more active than normal.
Locals may want to allow a little extra drive time in the busiest tourism zones, while visitors can look forward to a week with plenty to see and do across the county. |
