❓ Smoky Mountain Trivia
Before giant coasters, mountain coasters, and massive entertainment complexes filled the Parkway, one Pigeon Forge attraction helped turn go-kart racing into a Smoky Mountain tradition.
What longtime Pigeon Forge attraction, opened in 1984, became famous for its multi-level “Wild Woody” go-kart track and helped make go-karts one of the area’s signature attractions?

✅ Triva Answer: The Track
The Track opened in 1984 and became one of the area’s most recognizable family attractions. Its signature Wild Woody track, featuring a three-and-a-half-story climb and dramatic drop, helped make go-karts a major part of the Pigeon Forge tourism experience.
Sevierville / City Calendar Notes
TAMS Conference
June 1st – 2nd at the Sevierville Convention Center. This may affect convention center area traffic more than general tourist traffic.
USA Gymnastics Flip n Fun Championship
June 5th – 7th at the Sevierville Convention Center. This is worth flagging for traffic around the convention center and Wilderness/Soaky Mountain area.
🚗Traffic Watch
June 4th – 6th will probably be the busiest stretch because of Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge.
Expect pressure around:
• LeConte Center
• Teaster Lane
• Jake Thomas Road
• Wears Valley Road
• Pigeon Forge traffic lights 3 through 8
• Dollywood area traffic during the final weekend of Flower & Food Festival
• Sevierville Convention Center area June 5th – 7th due to the gymnastics championship
Best local advice:
Go early, avoid crossing Pigeon Forge during mid-afternoon if possible, and expect dinner-hour backups in both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
🌤️Weather Outlook
For the Pigeon Forge area, this week looks fairly typical for early June in the Smokies.
The biggest weather story is a transition from a humid, storm-prone start of the week into a stretch of very pleasant summer weather, before humidity and thunderstorm chances begin returning next weekend.
Sunday and Monday have the highest chances for scattered thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. If you’re planning outdoor activities, earlier in the day will be the safer bet.
Tuesday through Thursday look like the nicest days of the week with lower humidity, sunshine, and temperatures around the low 80s. Those will probably be the best sightseeing days for the national park, Dollywood, and outdoor attractions.
By Friday and Saturday, temperatures climb into the mid-to-upper 80s and it starts feeling more like full Smoky Mountain summer weather.
Next Sunday looks more unsettled again, with increasing humidity and afternoon thunderstorm chances.
